Sea Risks

Risks and the nature of the sea

Sailing is an outdoor sea activity. Conditions can change quickly, and every guest must understand the basic risks before requesting or joining a cruise.

Changing conditions

Wind, swell, currents, visibility, heat, and port conditions can change the route, timing, swimming stops, or the decision to depart.

  • The skipper may delay, alter, or cancel a route.
  • Swimming is allowed only when the skipper approves it.
  • Guests must follow instructions immediately.

Physical environment

A boat is a moving platform. Decks can be wet, sun exposure can be strong, and movement can be uncomfortable for some guests.

  • Use appropriate footwear and sun protection.
  • Tell the skipper about discomfort, fear, or relevant health issues.
  • Do not move around the deck without awareness of the boat's motion.
